Senior Underwriter

A vacancy has arisen at Weatherbys Bank Ltd, based in Wellingborough, Northants, for a Senior Underwriter in Asset Finance and Leasing.

A Senior Underwriter is required to fulfil the Banks desire to offer Hire Purchase and Leasing facilities in the mid-ticket asset finance market.  Typical proposals considered would be in excess of £150k and these would be sourced from the Banks own connections and selected brokers.

The role holder will have responsibility for recommending credit policy for asset finance generally and may be required to serve on the Banks Credit Committee.  They would also provide senior underwriting support to the Banks existing small ticket asset finance and leasing operation.

The successful candidate is likely to have at least five years’ experience of underwriting at this level with a major funder and to possess a relevant business qualification.  He/she will be able to demonstrate a good understanding of valuations and residual values across a wide range of equipment types and will ideally have had some exposure to the sustainable energy sector.
